About
Fort St Elmo guards the entrance to both of Valletta's harbours. Its ramparts, parade ground and chapel are fun to explore, and the National War Museum inside covers Malta's military history from prehistory to the Second World War — including the George Cross awarded to the islands.
On selected Sundays, costumed re-enactors stage the In Guardia parade.
